Long time rivals Netflix and Comcast has finally decided to call it a truce. Earlier this week, both companies came to an agreement as confirmed by Recode and to sum it up, Comcast will now allow Netflix streaming app onto their X1 set-top box.
“Comcast and Netflix have reached an agreement to incorporate Netflix into X1, providing seamless access to the great content offered by both companies. We have much work to do before the service will be available to consumers later this year. We'll provide more details at that time.”
Currently, the Netflix app is also available on Apple TV, Roku and Google Chromecast plus, it is already a popular app made available across most smart TVs. Netflix will likely have the same deal with Comcast and this makes access to much easier for those who already has Comcast and don’t want to purchase a smart TV or third-party device.

According to wired, both companies have released on the barest of details other than that it will “arrive later this year” and the biggest concern across the board seem to be:
“Will Comcast X1 cable users also need Comcast Internet service in order to access Netflix on X1?” “—and, if so, whether watching Netflix will eat into your Internet data plan.” - wired
In either case, the deal struck seem to work in favor of both companies, Netflix may see a jump in subscribers and Comcast would attract more leads and improve their current features for paying X1 customers.
Also a recent event from earlier this week, Netflix signed a new multi-year content licensing partnership with The CW to be the exclusive U.S. streaming service provider for previous seasons of popular series on The CW.
This new agreement includes all current CW shows including future shows from 2015 - 2017. Beginning the 2016 - 2017 season however, all Netflix subscribers will be able to stream full seasons for each show starting 8 days after the show’s season finale.
