News on the web is that Starbucks is upgrading their iced beverages with ice cubes made out of coffee. For just 80 cents more, you can add coffee ice cubes to any iced drink, and we're eternally grateful that our summer Starbucks runs have just been blessed with this non-diluting power. Think about the value in this. You're paying more, but your drink is never going to taste watered down again. That means no more chugging when it gets too diluted by regular ice cubes, and quite frankly, I don't know what could be better.
Reddit user owlcitizen44, a Starbucks barista, made a white mocha frappuccino with coffee ice, and the remarks were high. Claiming to not be a frappuccino fan to begin with, the barista concluded that the coffee ice did indeed make the frappuccino better as it was stronger and smoother. Currently, the coffee ice cubes are being tested at 100 Starbucks locations in Baltimore and St. Louis for a limited time only, and we suggest trying it with their brand new Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino!
