I know I’m in front of Ulta when I hear my boyfriend’s fearful whimper followed by an irritated groan as I drag him into the beauty wonderland with me. For those who can’t afford Sephora, ULTA is… the perfect store to browse. They have drugstore brands but also carry some of my favorite high-end beauty brands like It Cosmetics, Urban Decay and Too Faced. Most importantly, for a gal on a budget (ahem moi), they always ALWAYS have those discount coupons where I can snag $3.50 off a $10 purchase. I can easily pick up some beauty essentials, get $3.50 off and spend (way more time than necessary) browsing? Love it.

Okay, you obviously saw this one coming and you know that Ulta always has this offer somewhere up on their site. But every once in awhile, Ulta also offers a rare $5 off $15 coupon code (typically not displayed on their website) and you can find this offer on DealsPlus. The only downside of these codes… they’re limited time Ulta branded products with little room for inclusion on higher end brands. But if you’re just picking up some essentials like body lotion, nail polishes or other beauty knick knacks, these discounts will come in handy.
Like Sephora, Ulta also offers a beauty program and its free to join. No matter if it's a big or small purchase, you’ll still rack up points for it plus, members will get bonus points during your birthday month (along with a free gift) so maybe plan your beauty haul purchases around that time.
If you’re major beauty shopper, grab all your beauty, skincare and body essentials and Ulta and try to rack up $450 in expenses at Ulta within a year. Why? Because you’ll get bumped up to Platinum Status. Platinum members get 1.25 points for every dollar spend and your points will NEVER expire.
If you’re enrolled into Ultamate Rewards, you’ll receive a mailer every month or so. I always used to ditch these mailers but when I finally looked through one, I realized all the deals and new brands I missed out on. I normally lurk through the Ulta beauty aisles with no real intention to buy so the weekly circulars are a miss for me. But if you’re looking for a specific product or brand, they display all current free gift deals and discounts for select brands in the mailers make sure you start scanning through them.
The ad usually plays up on seasonal and trending products with decent discounts on popular box set offers. Ulta will also update all new brand offerings including debuting brands in their ads so it doesn’t hurt to give it a peek!

Ulta run promotions every week for free gifts with certain brand purchase or with qualifying purchases. Don’t miss out on these freebies! Also, if you need to return the items you bought, Ulta return policy states that you can return any items and still keep the gifts. Winning!
If you haven’t tried it yet, the Ulta mobile app gives you instant access to available digital coupons. Plus, they’re one of the few beauty retailers that have also expanded the app to Apple Watch. One very useful feature I found via this app, is the ability to scan barcodes. If you’re ever wandering around Ulta and come across a beautifully marketed item but wonder if it actually works, you can scan the code with the app in-store and that will pull up customers review on the product. Pretty neat me thinks.
You know those coupons you see in your Red Plum ad or your Sunday paper? Apparently, they can be used at Ulta! You can stack those store coupons with a Ulta coupon on qualifying brands and cash in more savings by grabbing items already in the clearance section.
