It's almost summer time, the chilly weather has been letting up and spring gave us the hint of sunshine that was much needed but we’re ready for full on sun. Time to get summer ready and purchase cute swimsuits from Victoria’s Secret right? Wrong.
Victoria’s Secret announced in an official press release in March that they would begin some restructuring with their core VS brands which includes their popular Victoria’s Secret Lingerie, PINK and Victoria’s Secret Beauty line.
Although not formally confirmed in the press release, a direct source revealed to BuzzFeed News under anonymity that Victoria’s Secret plans to stop their swimwear line after this year and switch their focus to their activewear. With the semi-annual sale approaching in June, we may be anticipating bigger sales on their existing swimwear in order to shell out all remaining swim inventory. Victoria’s Secret semi-annual sale runs twice per year typically in June or December so you’ll want to keep an eye out for major swimwear markdowns. Can't wait till the semi-annual sale? You can shop swimwear markdowns now!

The swimwear line was reportedly doing well last year but according to Sharen Turney (now former head of Victoria’s Secret), their recent swimwear designs did not perform well. Plus, Citi Analyst reported a downward trend of the swim category which no doubt nudge Victoria’s Secret to redirect their focus on their activewear line instead.
Another thing that’s going away from Victoria’s Secret? Their classic catalogs. The company announced in April 7th that they will be moving away from traditional catalogues and offers and will switch focus to their Victoria’s Secret Reward Program instead. We anticipate more digital and social offers coming up for the lingerie giant.
As another part of their restructuring plan, Victoria’s Secret also announced that they would be
"streamlining the organization through the elimination of approximately 200 Columbus and New York home office associates."
Looks like big changes for the company. Are you going to miss their swimwear?
