Walmart’s new free shipping policy just went live today! Over 2 million items sold on walmart.com qualifies for free 2-day shipping on your purchase of $35 and over. That’s down from their original $50 minimum and you’ll also get 2-day shipping with your purchase. Best thing of all? No membership required. Sound familiar to you? Rival Amazon bumped up their free shipping threshold from $35 to $49 last February for non-Prime shoppers. Previously, Amazon competitors followed suit in hiking up the free shipping threshold but it looks like the tides have turned and most major retailers are sticking with their low minimums to retain loyal shoppers. Currently, Target still offers free shipping on $25 and Best Buy also has free 2-day shipping on $35.
If you’ll remember, Walmart previously offered free 2-day shipping only via their ShippingPass program. Well, safe to say that that’s no longer the case. Effective January 31, 2017, Walmart ShippingPass is no longer available and the new free shipping policy will be available to all shoppers.
Walmart free 2-day shipping will be available on millions of items including household essentials, baby necessities, pet products, pantry items, beauty and much more. To make it easier for all shoppers, any items with the 2-Day Shipping logo will be eligible for the 2-day shipping option. For all other items that do not qualify for free 2-day shipping, Walmart offers free standard shipping (3-5 days) when your purchase is $35 and over.
