How does Walmart Pay work?

Walmart just announced ,in an official press release, that Walmart Pay is now available in over 4,600 Walmart stores nationwide. Daniel Eckert, senior vice president of Walmart U.S. notes that the mobile payment option enables shoppers to shop with ease and amplifies their goal for a hassle-free and seamless shopping experience.

“What’s even more powerful though, is what this means for our customers. We want to make every day easier for busy families. We’re connecting all the parts of Walmart into one seamless shopping experience with great stores, easy pickup, fast delivery, frictionless checkout and apps and websites that are simple to use.”

You can use Walmart Pay and connect with any current credit card you may have. Walmart Pay currently accepts: MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Visa or Walmart Gift Cards. Plus, it is available to both iOS and Android users.

How Can I Access Walmart Pay?

So, we were a little confused with this too. Basically Walmart Pay is made available to all iOS and Android users via the Walmart App so you can download here:

Walmart iOS App

Walmart Android App

After you download the app, open it and create or log in to your Walmart account.

Scroll down the app homepage and locate the Walmart Pay category.

This will lead you to the Walmart Pay welcome page where you can discover how it works and sign up.

Like what you see? Add a card to Walmart Pay.

You’re set, now wander in stores and shop as you normally do.

At checkout, once the associate scans all your items, simply use your phone to bring up the Walmart Pay QR code scan camera (which you can access immediately once you properly set up your account, card information and passcode). Scan. And done. You’re good to go.

Walmart will have your e-receipt ready on the Walmart App. You can locate all your receipts there in the future and also use those receipts for price difference reimbursement with Walmart Savings Catcher (also available from Walmart App just above the Walmart Pay category icon).

Just in case you didn't know, the Savings Catcher app is also on the Walmart App homepage. Savings Catcher is basically Walmart's price matching app and it does the work for you as long as you provide them with your Walmart purchase receipt. This is made even easier when Walmart Pay e-receipts, you have all that you need to easily conduct a price match via Walmart Savings Catcher.

So.. what do you think? Looks like Walmart has much digital innovations as well as in-store changes on the rise. What are you hoping Walmart will improve at your local Walmart?
