Pros: I've owned several GPS units from Garmin including GPS12, GPS3+, eMap. This is a dedicated car/mapping GPS so I wouldn't use it for hiking, although I suppose you could. Here's what I told a friend today: Played with my Garmin c530 today. It's currently living up to my expectations. It's bright enough to read driving down the road. If I go past a recommended exit it will automatically recalculate a new route. Sometimes the new route doubles back, but generally not. For example, I was going from DMACC West to Pleasant Hill. Normally, I go I-80 East. As I traveled home along my normal route it recommended I235 East and Hickman as alternate routes. Once I got past Hickman it recommended I80 west to HWY65. Then I detoured to the Wendy's in Altoona. It identified 56th street rather than putting me back on HWY65. This is a 45mph road that goes almost straight line back to my place. Very smart. You can choose to alter it's recommended plan and it just keeps recalculating

Cons: None. I love this thing.

Other Thoughts: Newegg shipped it quickly as usual. I pretty much buy all my electronics from Newegg these days.
