Off Season Shopping - And Making Money on eBay

5 0
Okay - so I am aware that there are a lot of eBay haters out there - and that is fine - this Tip could help those that want to sell on other Auction Sites, their Own Sites or even Craigslist... This involves buying OFF-Season Items at a VERY Reduced Rate and Reselling them at the Proper Time of Year to make a Profit.

With this article we are going to use an experimental idea... Okay - so it's that time of year when Income Tax refunds should be rolling in.  For this Experiment we are going to take $100.00 (or any amount you choose) and purchase Christmas Items.  You can go to any site and go into Seasonal Clearance and find Christmas Items at a reduced rate - but for this example we are going to use

First we will go to and run a Search on "Spode Christmas" to your left you will see that there are 11 Categories to choose from - Lets Start with  Kitchen & Dining - at the time of this article you will find " Showing 1 - 24 of 725 Results" - BUT - we are going to narrow the search even further... Go to the left hand side of the page and Select "Shipping Option - Free Super Saver Shipping - We Now are Showing 1 - 24 of 97 Results - BUT - we are going to search EVEN Further - Now on the Left Hand Side of the Page - Scroll down to where you see "Discount - 50% Off or More" and Click on that... We are Now  Showing 1 - 24 of 69 Results... NOW it's time to look for our REAL Bargains and Decide how to spend our $100.00...     Let's Look at an example of the Deals you can get...This is a
Spode Christmas Tree Sculpted Pedestal Bowl 8.5"
List Price: $80.00
Price: $16.26 & eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping on orders over $25. or Prime
You Save: $63.74 (80%)

As you can see - You save 80% on this Item.  Spode is Very Collectable and this was a piece made for 2011 - and will grow in Value in years to come... BUT we want to turn our money around - so this is what we are going to do...

Take the pictures of the items you buy and put them on your hard drive, copy the descriptions (change them up a little bit to make them your own) and save to your computer. *This way the hard part of writing the Auctions is already done for you.

Order your items in and WAIT... Around the end of October into December - Prices for collectible Christmas Items Go WAY UP - you will NOT be competing with Amazon at this low price come that time of year.

Now - Lets say that you Sell this Item that we used for an Example on eBay in November for $50.00 - Even after eBay Fees and PayPal fees - you have more than doubled your money.  So - If you do that with the $100.00 in merchandise that you purchased in March you now have $200.00 or more profit.  NOW - take your initial $100.00 back - Now you are out NO MONEY for the next step...

*Side Note: If you do not have an eBay store - you can list up to 50 Auctions per Month FREE - and even add a Buy it Now Option for Free... so you are out NO MONEY for Listing and Only Pay eBay IF your item Sells.

Now - you have your initial $100.00 in your pocket and another $100.00 to start the game again and this time with NOTHING out of pocket... In November you will find gardening items, patio items, Spring ans Summer items, etc. at Very Reduced Prices... Repeat the steps above - put the items away until February or March when they are selling for Much higher Prices and do it all over again - only THIS TIME - when you Double your Money - You will have $200.00 to invest in Off Season items and it can just keep going like this until you have a tidy little nest egg from buying Off Season Items all year long and Waiting to Sell them at an appropriate time.

I try to buy off season and resell on Ebay. It's fun to bargain shop then to make a little profit!

nimrodboy3 moves and great technique. thanks for the tips. i've tried purchasing things on sale and then reselling them..sometimes it works out...sometimes it doesn't. timing really is crucial. also..i think for some people, they don't like investing if they won't see the earnings in the near future.

I love off season shopping! I get excited to buy the items on sale and then it's fun to reopen the new items the next year. I get most of my clothes this way, although I am always a year behind in style. I am not too experienced in ebay, but maybe I will try that soon. Wonder if there will be any good Easter sales....
