newjerseychickxo your right. Adults could gargle w a small amount & spit it out but kids should always use the q-tip dip. Great tip for teething babies.

My mom used to give me and my siblings opium for that - even for teething babies! Until 1970 you could buy "paregoric" at any pharmacy without a prescription. It's a weak solution of opium in alcohol. It was also used as a cough medicine and a few other things.

Perfect timing for this topic,I actually been suffering with a toothache and can't get to the dentist until next week,I will definitely try the vanilla and the ice,heck when it comes to toothaches I'll try anything.I get migraines and if I had to pick between the two I think I would rather have the migraine.

Thanks for your tiP...where can I get vanilla extract?i usually use cloves for relief,so I dnt know about vanilla extract..
