Uses for Everyday Things

9 0
Hey guys, I stumbled upon this a couple of weeks ago and always wanted to share it. The site I got the images/text from is below but not the original site I found it on. (Couldn't find that one tonight.) Thought it was definitely worth sharing - I love the idea of a lot of these things! Enjoy (:

1. Opening Knots
Hate Opening Knots?
Twist the loose end as much as possible then push it through the loop!
2. Hard Plastic Packages
Have a hard time opening hard plastic packages?
Why not use a can opener next time?!
3. Nail Holder
A comb makes the perfect nail holder for those frame hanging projects.
And you can still use it afterwards!
4. Cable Labels
Save your bread ties!
They work great as Cable and Power cord labels!
5. Storage Bags
Stop throwing away your bottles!
Cut off the top half and use them to create cheap bags for storage as shown below!
6. Drilling debris
Next time you have a drilling project use sticky notes to catch the debris!
7. Filling Buckets
Dust pans are far more useful than just collecting dust bunnies from under the couch.
Use them under your sink as way to fill buckets or vases that simply don't fit under the sink.
8. Watery drinks
Avoid watered down drinks by making ice cubes with the same juice you'll be drinking later!
9. Over-Boiling
Avoid the risk of over-boiling by placing a wooden spoon on a pot as shown below.
10. Unfolded Wrapping
Avoid having wrapping paper unfold all over the place.
Reuse your left over toilet paper rolls and cut them down the middle.
Much better than rubber bands which may fold the wrapping paper and/or snap (And they're harder to remove!).

Great ideas...thanks for sharing! I'm definitely trying the storage bag from plastic bottle trick.
I re-purpose a lot of things. This year I have some seeds started in sections of paper towel & TP tubes. It's working quite well, so I searched for cardboard tubes on ebay. I was amused to find empty toilet paper tubes for sale!

How does the spoon trick work? Does it fall and let you know you're over-boiling? My favorite are the tp rolls and... well, all of them, like Florida2Texas says :)

Also, egg cartons are good for jewelry organization, earrings can go through the styrofoam easily enough, and the little egg depressions in cardboard or styrofoam are great for necklaces.
