15 Things You Actually Can't Return to Amazon

About this Deal

It's the season for holiday shopping, and return policies can be a deciding factor when figuring out where to shop. If you've got Amazon Prime, you're already covered for free shipping. Returns are also free (unless otherwise stated), but you should know that not everything can be returned on Amazon. Before you start your holiday shopping frenzy, be sure to understand Amazon's return policy.

While Amazon's standard return policy allows for returns to be made within 30 days, most items shipped by Amazon between November 1st and December 31st of 2018 can be returned through January 31st, 2019. That being said, there are some items that Amazon won't alow you to return.

List of Non-Returnable Items:
  • Custom, handmade products (unless there is damage, defect or error, such as misspellings)
  • Digital music downloaded from the Amazon Digital Music store
  • Fresh flowers
  • Gift cards
  • Groceries (including AmazonFresh and Prime Pantry items, though refunds are possible in cases of spills or spoilage)
  • Hazardous materials including flammable liquids or gases
  • Live insects (Amazon sells everything from ladybugs to Madagascar hissing cockroaches)
  • Live plants
  • Pet food (but may be refundable)
  • Prepaid game cards (for World of Warcraft, Xbox 360 Live, Wii Points, etc.)
  • Prepaid phone cards
  • Software and game downloads, as well as other digital purchases from the Amazon Appstore
  • Theme park tickets
  • Videos downloaded from the Amazon Video store
  • Wine (but may be refundable)
