Recall alert! The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has just issued a recall for 5.7 million Contigo Kids Water Bottles due to a chocking hazard. The chocking hazard is due to the bottle's clear silicone spout detaching.

Affected Bottles Include:
About 5.7 million bottles are affected by this recall (with about 157,000 sold in Canada and 28,000 sold in Mexico). Affected bottles contain the following:
  • Black spout base and black spout cover
  • Contigo is printed on the rim and along the front near the bottom
  • Affected bottles come in three sizes (13-oz, 14-oz, & 20-oz)
  • Affected bottles come in four colors (solid color, graphics, stainless steel & stainless steel solid colors)
  • Bottles were sold individually, in 2-packs and in 3-packs

So far there have been 149 reported incidents of the spouts detaching, with 18 cases resulting in the spout being found in children's mouths.

Affected Bottles Were Sold at the Following Stores:
Affected bottles were sold on various websites from April 2018 to June 2019 for between $9 and $24. These bottles were commonly sold at the following stores:
  • Costco
  • Walmart
  • Target
  • And other stores nationwide

If you've purchased one of the affected bottles, you are strongly urged to return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

Oh no.. this is Contigo brand product. Who doesn't use this brand?

Oh wow, wouldn't have expected this from Contigo. They usually make quality bottles. Hopefully nobody has been seriously injured from this.
