With Payless closing 2,500 US locations soon, you may want to get a move on when it comes to using gift cards or making returns.

Payless said in a statement Monday that they will honor gift cards until March 11th. However, when it comes to returns and exchanges, you will have until March 1st.

We're all upset with Payless closing its US locations, but you'll want to look out for liquidation sales for heavy discounts.

I was a manager for Payless about 20 years ago. It was a decent company to work for overall from what I can remember. I am not surprised the end is near for Payless. Things change and individuals shopping habits change. If I had to tell you when the last time I went in to a Payless store it was roughly 3 years ago with my wife she bought some shoes. I found some shoes that day but they were way over-priced for the quality.

Payless closing makes me wonder about a former manager who trained me all those years ago. We lost touch and wonder if he still works for Payless? He started at Payless when he was 17 or so and when I met him he already had 20 years in and was promoted to district manager and then another promotion which I believe he moved out of State to take the position and that is when I lost touch. Time to look him up.
