Once they have you, there's no need to bribe you. I've seen this same card offered with anywhere from $50 to $200, with widely varying purchase requirements to qualify for the payola. It costs banks hundreds of dollars to acquire a single new credit card customer, so its much cheaper for them to simply "buy" customers for a fraction of the cost.
