We use Square right now for our Store and it works like a charm. It deposits the money in our back account the day after the transaction.

Yeah, I have a square account as well, and it works great. I've no complaints with them (and they have the same 2.7% per swipe charge).

The reason I'm excited about Paypal is for use with private transactions. I think more people on craiglist and at garage sales know about and trust paypal.

Maybe that's just my perception, but it's always nice to have more options in my opinion.

I've seen small shops use this but never thought consumers would have access to this service as well. Pretty neat! Thanks for sharing

Arts & crafts fairs artisans, and community groups' fundraising opportunities may find this very beneficial.

My neighbor had a yard sale over the weekend and she told me the amount of people asking her if she took credit card was unbelievable. One person suggested she put in her add, cash only at this time, lol. I am not sure that many don't use cash yet, but someday soon it will be the norm. NO CASH!

This is a great addition for Paypal, and the card reader is free!

The charge is 2.7% per credit card swipe (or 3.5% + $0.15 if you type in the card information instead of using the card reader). Other than the per transaction fee, it doesn't cost anything to get and have the service.

Here's the link to the android and iphone apps, where you can request to get the card reader for free:
