i'm on a mac - does anyone know how to save the mp3 from these sites onto my hard drive? it just opens a window and plays the song...

This is not illegal. You do not have to download copyrighted music with this. There is plenty of free music by indie bands and other bands that put their music for free on the internet in hopes of gaining publicity.

But if those are the bands you're looking for then just Google the band and then go to the band's website, where those files are already at... Plus, associating it with Napster, gives the impression of it being illegal...

This may be questionable, but who can truthfully say that they haven't benefited from downloading instead of buying things? It's the cost of having the internet. (Personally, I love downloading, especially when it's stuff that's hard to find here in America like Japanese pop).

I dont know, I dont think I would call it illegal. Not sure. Its more illegal for the sites to have the copyrighted music up there, and their (idiotic) faults for not password protecting or getting rid of index pages.

I don't know why, but I just thought of this old trick as well.

Using Internet Explorer (Doesn't work in Firefox) paste the following into your address bar (not Google):

javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200; DI=document.images; DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style; DIS.position='absolute'; DIS.left=Math.sin(R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5; DIS.top=Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5}R++}setInterval('A()',5); void(0);

More fun on an image heavy site.

this is pretty old...you've been able to do this kind of stuff with the advanced search engine features for years. i remember doing this as a kid in the 90's, pre-napster.

This is still illegal downloading. Please do not post this type of information to this site.

Not just this site... Please don't abuse Google to further illegal activities... Google is your friend... Don't get them sued by evil companies like Viacom... Google has helped you out on more than one occasion (in all likelihood), why do you take advantage of them? Poor Google :(
